They achieve these benefits through solutions based on GS1 global unique numbering and identification systems, bar codes, Electronic Product Code-based RFID, data synchronization, and electronic information exchange.In this corporate role, you will act as a legal advisor generally to all company business units that require creative and proactive legal guidance focusing on contract management supporting various business units including high impact event management, partner programs, marketing, advisory services, internal compliance and other special projects. The Corporate Counsel must demonstrate intimate knowledge and have a proven record of success as a technical professional in a legal specialty review, draft and manage commercial and corporate contracts. In this role, you must respond promptly to internal colleagues summarizing and communicating legal concepts that businesspeople can use while managing agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance. The corporate counsel will advise business colleagues and other cross-functional stakeholders on legal issues and risks, approval processes, company policies and procedures and business strategy. You will serve as a supportive member of the Legal Department team, assisting the General Counsel & all other members of the Legal Department, including departmental matters, budget, strategic focus and planning, and technological improvements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other responsibilities may be added. •Good understanding of data commercialization processes (commercial models, service arrangements, contract structures)•Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements supporting the business units •Collaborate in the continuing development of commercial contracts workflows to develop a scalable, business-centric approach to commercial negotiations and agreements•Develop and operationalize policies, training, and workflows to allow business teams to move quickly while addressing key legal risks in their areas of operation•Assist in managing all dispute resolution and other areas of compliance •Timely entry of all matters handled including complete matter management while meeting and exceeding SLAs. •Provides additional support and assistance to the General Counsel on all other matters SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis role does not have supervisory responsibilitiesEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE •3-5years of recent experience practicing in a corporate legal department•J.D. from an accredited law school.•Member of NJ State Bar•Experience with negotiating commercial contracts and leading compliance initiatives•Creative, innovative, professional, customer-focused, fast learner and self-starter with strong business acumen.•Strong excel and reporting requirementsTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS10%GS1 US is an Equal Opportunity Employer - All qualified applications will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national originGS1 US is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search or staffing firms.
