Queen's Health System Supvr, Food Production - West (Full Time, 40, Day/Evening) in Ewa Beach, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises and coordinates operations and activities of the food production staff of The Queen’s Medical Center – West Oahu (QMC-WO).
• Ensures services, functions, and activities are performed efficiently and effectively and in accordance with regulatory requirements and the policies and procedures of QMC
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Required standing, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing.
• Frequent: walking, pushing and pulling 10 to 20 pounds of force, talking, bending, squatting, overhead reaching , twisting, bending, gripping of an object for prolonged periods, stooping.
• Occasional: lifting and moving maximum of 35 pounds, kneeling, and squatting, stooping/bending, twisting body, lifting up to maximum 35 pounds, lifting and carrying usual weight of 15 pounds up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling maximum 50 pounds of force, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Generally in an indoor setting; however, may work outside activities and events.
• Exposed to heat from cooking equipment and cold temperatures from freezer/refrigerator. Subjected to noise/vibration from food equipment.
• Exposure cleaning chemicals/detergents; odors/vapors from cooked foods.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Two (2) years formal training as a cook or vocational training in basic and institutional food preparation and production; five (5) years’ experience as a lead cook in quantity food production may be substituted for formal training.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Three (3) years’ experience as a Cook or equivalent experience in quantity food production, preferably in a health care institution.
• Prior experience in a lead role, such as a Team Lead, Supervisor, Senior, etc.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
o Ability to lead, supervise, and manage staff.
o Ability to demonstrate organizational skills.
