SUMMARY: With minimal oversight, the Vice President, Aircraft Maintenance isresponsible for building the strategic vision andmaintaining a Business Unit which ensures that all personnel perform their duties in compliance with the requirements of the ATS repair station manual and that all maintenance of aircraft is performed in accordance with approved Federal Aviation Administration, manufacturer, and customer procedures and requirements at ATS’ Airframe locations . Responsible for leading, directing, and controlling the resources required to successfully accomplish compliance goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates the overall strategic vision for PAE Airframe.
Supports operational Directors in assigned Airframe locations, providing guidance and leadership when needed.
Oversight of the hiring and qualification of maintenance personnel as determined by experience, training and performance.
Ensures work scopes have been scheduled, planned, and accomplished in a manner conducive to proper completion.
Responsible for ensuring maintenance is properly performed in accordance with repair station procedures.
Responsible for the Safety and Quality, and daily emphasis, to ensure compliance.
Regularly and personally engages with customer on-site representatives and their reporting seniors located at customer headquarters. Promotes strong customer focus, communication and alignment within the operations and support teams.
Approves contracts for the administration of airframe projects.
Collaborates with senior leadership to develop long-range goals and objectives. Ensures ongoing alignment as well as clear metrics to measure success.
Oversees the development and implementation of procedures, policies and guidelines for all departments within functional area, and in coordination with other locations.
Responsible for Airframe profitability.
Reviews and approves budgets and expenditures.
Provides strategic input in reviews of analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
Reviews achievements with Directors and discusses required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
Ensures manpower and other resources are aligned to workload requirements.
Oversees the professional development of direct reports including next level leaders. Ensures regular feedback, coaching and mentoring. Develops succession planning.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Some travel may be required.

AUTHORITY:
This position is prohibited from performing any safety sensitive functions to include the accomplishment or direct supervision of the following:
Aircraft maintenance – This includes inspection, overhaul, repair, preservation, and the replacement of parts.
Preventive maintenance – This includes simple or minor preservation operations and the replacement of small standard parts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring and terminating employees; providing guidance; coaching and developing employees; planning and assigning work for direct reports; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Fully and actively supports ATS policies in all areas of educating, preventing and managing safety in the workplace. This includes observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that employees are provided with full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and employees are provided proper equipment to carry out their jobs in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of FAA compliance regulations and FAR Part 145.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret highly complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to highly sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to employees and public groups.
Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve goals.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
General knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proven knowledge in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the work which the repair station is rated.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in commercial aircraft maintenance and/or MRO.
Minimum of ten (10) years’ MRO management experience preferred.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT:
Based on location, may be required to pass background check for SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) or AOA (Airport Operations Area) badge. Normal business office conditions generally prevail. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Employee may be working in a cubicle, enclosed office, or open area. Floor may be carpeted or bare. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
Compensation
The full base pay range for this position is $136,000 - $215,000 (expressed as annualized for exempt), exclusive of benefits or potential bonuses. The lower end of the range represents the target base pay for those beginning or developing in the role. The higher end of the range is intended for those who have mastered the role, with proven significant expertise, high achievement, and specialized skills. If you are hired at ATS, your salary will be based on factors including skills, education and experience. In addition to those factors – we consider internal equity of our current employees when determining offers. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. We also offer a generous benefits package, as detailed below.
