We are looking for a Credit and Collections Supervisor to oversee daily accounts receivable functions and manage the full cycle of accounts receivable. This role involves supervising a team, fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily A/R functions, including bill receipt, accuracy confirmation, coding, and payables entry.
Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable: sales order, delivery, billing, account posting, and payment receipt.
Foster positive relationships with internal sales and operations teams, as well as external customers.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and cash applications.
Oversee the processing of new credit applications based on credit department and company size.
Manage progress billing control, invoicing, and reporting.
Supervise the posting of payments to customer accounts.
Handle collection calls and correspondence with customers regarding past due balances.
Provide customer service for collection issues, process refunds, review account adjustments, and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor and maintain assigned accounts, including customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write-offs, reconciliations, and credit memo processing.
Prepare and reconcile customer statements, process returns, and issue invoices.
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Assist with month-end close, journal entries, DSO analysis, and accounts receivable reporting.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, with a focus on large retail companies.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills, particularly in handling collections and escalated invoices.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with customer service in collections.
Ability to handle escalations from a team of 8-10.
Proficiency in account reconciliation and collection calls.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. This position offers a hybrid schedule, with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. No meetings are scheduled on Fridays, and during the summer, employees work half days on Fridays but receive full pay. The office culture is amazing, with discounts on products and events, and a full lounge with a bowling alley for team events.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
