Boeing Commercial Airlines has an exciting opportunity for a Assembler Installer to join our Joint and Installation team in Renton or Everett, WA.

Join our team as a mechanic and become an integral part of the aircraft assembly process. In this position, you will have the exciting opportunity to install crucial parts and assemblies in various shops, including Join and Installation (J&I), System and Installations (S&I), Wing Body Join, Final Body Join, and Final Assembly.

As a mechanic, you will play a vital role in the construction of fuselage, wing buildup, and joining, as well as other major sub-assemblies. Your expertise will be put to the test as you perform precise installations of plumbing components and systems, ensuring that everything is in perfect working order. Additionally, you will have the chance to work on interior details and assemblies, adding the finishing touches to these incredible aircraft.

Using prints, jigs, work orders, and other resources, you will locate and install assemblies with precision and accuracy. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you work on non-conformance revisions (NCR's) and follow work instructions to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

Position Responsibilities

  • Use a computer in a production environment.

  • Look up, read, and comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications.

  • Perform cutting, filing, trimming, drilling, reaming, riveting, bolting, cementing, clamping, using hand or power shop tools, and other related mechanical operations as necessary.

  • Perform reaming and riveting necessary to accomplish work assignment.

  • Fit, assemble, and install sub-assemblies such as doors, brackets, air ducts, support assemblies, tubing, valves, regulators, compressors, etc.

  • Assemble and install tubing, valves, regulators, compressors, etc. in aircraft hydraulic, fuel, oil, water, oxygen, CO2, water injection, refrigeration, etc., systems.

  • Install various parts and assemblies such as landing gear, aircraft control surfaces, exterior panels, carpets, blankets, roller trays/ball mats, stowbins, sidewalls, ceiling panels, lavatories, galleys, doors, and seats.

  • Install cables and wire bundles when similar in complexity and incidental but necessary to the expeditious accomplishment of work assignment.

  • Remove and/or replace installations and related components.

  • Complete process-related sealing and corrosion inhibited compound (CIC) applications including but not limited to bond jumper, fay surface sealing, fillet sealing, etc.

  • Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task being performed.

  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts).

  • Use various tools such as a rivet gun and bucking bar, screwdrivers, lock bolt puller, power screwdriver, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner, Winslow, 90-Degree Power Vane, or Quackenbush, and various other hand tools.

  • Handle chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.

  • Inspect work quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris).

  • Carry/lift objects weighing 10-35 pounds.

  • Perform flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, and walking.

  • Use high impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting).

  • Climb/balance on stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces, crawl, and crouch (squat).

  • Work around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g., circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.

  • Manipulate fingers for tasks such as keyboarding.

  • Read from a computer screen, printed drawings, or documents.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with Manufacturing or assembly environment.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics or similar industry; this can include education and military.

  • 1+ years of experience with safety process and/or procedures in a manufacturing or operations environment

  • Enrolled in a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high school or community and technology college academic program

Typical Education

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Relocation

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business consideration.

Summary pay range: $23.50 - $42.55 per hour
