Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee operations at a steel distribution and processing facility in Evansville, IN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and supply chain operations, with experience in the steel or industrial materials industry being a plus. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient daily operations, safety compliance, inventory control, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, processing, and shipping steel products.
- Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders by coordinating with the processing and sales teams.
- Oversee inventory management, conducting regular audits to maintain accuracy and optimize stock levels.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment by enforcing health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and develop warehouse staff, providing training and leadership to enhance productivity and performance.
- Implement and monitor warehouse performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure on-time delivery and efficient logistics management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflow and operational efficiency.
- Manage equipment maintenance and ensure proper use of warehouse tools, such as forklifts and cutting equipment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager, preferably in a steel or industrial environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of warehouse software and inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements for warehouse operations.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to handle heavy materials and operate warehouse machinery (forklift certification preferred).
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in logistics, business management, or a related field is a plus).
- 5+ years of warehouse management experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
