Travel RRT - 12 hour NOCs- Evansville, IN

$2,290 WK./36 HRS. - Gross Weekly Pay

40 MILE RADIUS RULE - NO LOCAL CANDIDATES

Contract Length: 20 weeks

Start Date: ASAP

Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36 7p-730a CST

Primary Location: Evansville, IN

Shift Requirements: 12hr NOCs

Float Requirements: Will float to inpatient units/facilities

On Call/Call Back Requirements: N/A

Weekend/Holiday Requirements: every other weekend/every other holiday

Required Certifications to be Attached upon Submittal: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, IN License, NBRC cert

Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience in specialty

Charting Experience Required: EPIC experience highly preferred

Required Skillset: Medical/Surgical Respiratory Therapy, ICU Stepdown Respiratory Therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, Arterial Blood Gases

Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): Approx. 280 Bed Acute Care Hospital, Medical/Surgical Units, ICU Stepdown Units

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and pulmonarytherapy, management, and rehabilitation under the direction of a doctor. The Respiratory Therapist treats conditionsthat affect the pulmonary system and help patients who are having troublebreathing from infants to the elderly in a variety of health caresettings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adheres to established policies and procedures of thefacility

  • Performs focused interviews to identify specific patientneeds

  • Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic andpsychosocial changes in the patient’s condition

  • Plans for outcomes of care for those patients assigned

  • Assists with diagnosing lung or breathing disorders

  • Evaluates patients and performs tests and studies whenindicated

  • Determines appropriate therapy and treatment options incollaboration with physicians

  • Analyzes blood and sputum in the lab when applicable

  • Manages respiratory/pulmonary equipment and devices

  • Educates patients and families about lung diseases andbreathing disorders

  • Performs interventions according to identified priorities,plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard.

  • Adheres to emergency, safety and infection controlprocedures of the facility

  • Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate goodinterpersonal communications

  • Reports changes in the patient’s respiratory status to theDirector/Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services, the nurse primarilyresponsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and prior to leavingthe facility

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registrationfor the state in which he/she practices

  • One year of respiratory therapy clinical experiencepreferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age Compliance & EthicsExpectations
