This role will be leading a team of engineers and resources, acting as the project management team leader with specific focus on supporting the Eastern Region Food Service Team and the Containers Team.

Responsibilities

• Design & develop new thermoformed packaging products.

• Research new advancements in materials, process control, equipment, and tooling to improve existing products through disciplined project management.

• Investigate, create and develop new methods and technologies for project advancement.

• Manage projects with cross-functional teams including operations, sales, marketing, regulatory & quality to ensure product specifications are met with cost effective & reliable solutions.

• Directly supervise engineers and engineers in training.

• Provide technical support to commercial & manufacturing teams through specification, tests, product qualifications & recommendations.

• Conduct trials utilizing design of experiments in vendor labs, CPNA pilot plant, and production lines during development, scale up and continuous improvement activity.

• Report and present results at all levels of the organization.

• Responsible for research, design, and development of assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience in plastics processing and/or tooling.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally: 20-50%

• Hands on management style preferred.

• Ability to interact closely with key internal & external resources and customers to deliver high-quality new products.

• Ability to manage capital expenditures, RFQs for new business, and generate business cases for continuous improvement opportunities.
