As a Cybersecurity Analyst you will be responsible for implementing security initiatives.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst with extensive knowledge in cybersecurity and demonstrated proficiency in implementing security initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully implementing security projects such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and data encryption for virtual machines, data backups, databases, and network data traffic. This position is full-time, hybrid, and a long-term contract.

The schedule is 8:30 am - 4:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch (35-hour work week).

What You’ll Do

  • Implement planned security projects as defined by the IT Department, such as MFA and encrypting data backups

  • Assist the IT Department in identifying security gaps and concerns and provide a long-term security roadmap for future initiatives

  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes

  • Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks

  • Maintain all environments, networks, and phone systems in a secure and functioning state

  • Perform various other duties as assigned by the IT Department

  • Implement planned disaster recovery and business continuity (DR/BC) projects as defined by the IT Department

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science is required; an advanced degree is a plus

  • Proven work experience in implementing successful security-related projects

  • Strong proficiency in security protocols and frameworks with the confidence and experience to implement new security projects

  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience in a Security and/or Network and Systems Administrator role

  • Proven ability to interact and create a positive and collaborative working environment with corporate, business, vendor, and technical resources

  • Experience providing security and technical guidance and expert advice to management and other groups

  • Ability to work independently and with groups, with limited supervision

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and a strong understanding of how MFA relates to security authentication with applications (e.g., Office 365)

  • Knowledge of network security and use of the Internet, including authentication, access control, firewall rules/configuration, disaster prevention, data recovery, intrusion detection, and data encryption

  • Knowledge of Cisco security devices such as firewalls, VPN, Duo, and their security features and settings

  • Ability to support and manage Active Directory Domains, Federated Services, and Wireless Access Points from a security standpoint

  • Knowledge of DNS and SSL certificates and how to apply them to servers and applications.

  • Experience with configuring virtualized environments (VMware)

  • Working knowledge of Incident Management, Change and Release Management, and Problem Management procedures

Desired:

  • Any certificate or training completed associated with Cybersecurity is a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
