URENCO USA Mechanical Maintenance Technician in Eunice, New Mexico

Summary of Responsibilities

This is a highly skilled position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of process equipment. Under direct supervision, Craft II technicians will execute work assignments in accordance with approved procedures, work orders, or supervisory direction, adhering to all safety requirements (chemical, radiological, criticality safety, etc.). This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a Highschool diploma or GED, and a candidate with eight years of relevant experience is preferred but not required. Two years of vocational school is not required but preferred. Preferred but not required certifications include a Journeyman's license.

Specific Skills:

  • Experience and knowledge using test equipment including common and special instrument and electrical tools.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong mechanical aptitude including an aptitude in math, science, or computers.
  • A relevant Associate's degree or a Journeyman's License or equivalent certification is preferred

Job Details

  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM. Emergency Response requirements are negotiable.
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required:10% of the time or less as required.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.

Primary Functions

  • Perform process equipment preventative, corrective and troubleshooting activities. Repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant procedure adhering to Urenco's policies regarding safety, maintenance, operation, and procedural compliance.
  • Prepare work assignments in accordance with approved procedures, work orders, or supervisory direction, adhering to all safety requirements. Create task instructions and assist Planners in the creation of work orders.
  • Complete documentation of work assignments in a real time manner to aid in the configuration management of the facility.
  • Attain and maintain qualifications for Craft positions through a timely participation in training in accordance with UUSA's maintenance training program.
  • Must be able to be situationally aware and work safely in an industrial environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a USA security clearance.
  • Relevant working experience in a chemical plant or nuclear facility is a plus.
  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED or HSE.
  • Must be knowledgeable enough w th computers and computer software to be responsible for generating reports, action items and change requests for preventative maintenance deferrals, changes, and cancellations.
  • Must have the ability to collect information required to procure parts and work with customization/fabrication shops to obtain customized parts when necessary.
