WorkSource Oregon Sawmill Superintendent (Sawmill Manager) in EUGENE, Oregon
The Sawmill Superintendent must be able to effectively manage high priority tasks and projects and possess strong problem-solving skills to achieve optimum solutions and successful outcomes. This position will provide leadership and direction through strong communication and teamwork of all sawmill, remanufacturing, and maintenance activities to effectively achieve performance goals in production, quality, safety and including environmental compliance, and residuals management in a cost effective and efficient manner. The successful candidate will focus on maintaining high productivity, efficiency and accident prevention levels through effective supervision, mentoring, operator knowledge/skill improvement, cross training, workforce management and process/equipment optimization. Qualifications & Experience: \' 5+ year\'s wood products manufacturing experience as a Plant / Production Superintendent or Manager, preferably in the manufacturing of Timbers and/or Lumber. \' Able to work weekends, holidays, and extra hours, as needed. \' Computer literate, including a strong background in MS Office. \' Excellent interpersonal skills \' conflict management, coaching, feedback, and problem solving. \' Must be assertive and have a strong work ethic \' Must have strong attention to detail and good decision-making skills. \' Must have excellent communication skills and set a positive example.
