Department Summary

The Robert D. Clark Honors College (CHC) is a liberal arts honors college within the University of Oregon, an AAU Research 1 institution. Founded in 1960, it is one of the oldest public university honors colleges in the United States. The College features a dedicated curriculum that provides students a strong interdisciplinary foundation in the liberal arts, while also giving faculty members the opportunity to design and teach innovative courses. CHC courses are typically run as seminars. They are writing-intensive and open only to honors college students. Courses are capped at 19 students or less and allow for vibrant intellectual discussions, unique opportunities for pedagogical experimentation, and sustained faculty-student interaction.

Position Summary

The Operations Project Assistant provides data analysis and operations support to the Clark Honors College. This position maintains tracking of honors college student data, including collection, filing, and record-keeping, and processing, analysis, and reporting of confidential data. This information is used to track student progress, direct outreach efforts, and establish standardized responses. The position is part of the CHC Operations team responsible for daily operation of the honors college, data collection and analysis to inform data-based operational decisions, administration of student-facing scholarship and award processes, records management, and project management for specific projects within the Operations portfolio.

Minimum Requirements

• Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents, and

• Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures

• Ability to organize and arrange complex data, understand which data analysis techniques are suitable for what data types, and preparation of data visualizations

• Customer service orientation and dependability

• Ability to proactively anticipate needs

• Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds in support of a welcoming and inclusive environment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, including understanding FERPA and other regulations that guide record keeping, tracking, and interactions with colleagues and students

• Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to manage competing portfolios and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience, especially in-person interactions

• Experience in a student support/student success unit

• Experience in data analysis and assessment

• Experience with Cognos, Navigate, and Power BI

• Project management experience
