15.75-18.38 per hour Biweekly | Closes 05-Oct-2024 (PST) | 3690 West 1st Avenue, Eugene, OR, USA | Hourly | Adult & Community Services | Full Time (30 hrs.) | Gym Membership, EAP, Paid Training, Reimbursements.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Activities Program (LEAP) Direct Support Professional will instruct supported individuals with a variety of abilities in life skills, leisure and social activities, and mobility. This position ensures supported individuals are engaged throughout the day within group or independent activities and/or in a community setting or online program. This is accomplished in a fun and supportive environment utilizing arts & crafts, music, video, meal preparation, outings and education to stimulate and encourage growth and life enrichment. There is a great sense of fulfilment helping individuals reach their goals while working with a creative team. This is a full time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete all training required by ODDS, Pearl Buck Center, and Adult & Community Services Department

  1. Maintain all necessary records and record daily data entries into appropriate recordkeeping systems

  2. Provide support and assistance in the restroom as well as personal hygiene as needed

  3. Instruct and assist supported individual in self-care skills to maximize level of independence

  4. Assist supported individuals to be mobile within the building and in the community

  5. Follow client protocols and insure the maximize level of independence

  6. Assist supported individual to access leisure, social and work opportunities

  7. Engage supported individual in daily activities. Encourage participation, skill development and exploration

  8. Support and assist with online activity classes

  9. Gain familiarity and read all supported individuals ISP's and PBSP's

  10. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in developing strategies to minimize challenging behaviors and coach/mentor positive ones; assist in designing online curriculum

  • Prepare/distribute meals and assist with supporting needs during and at any time food is present

  • Assist supported individual on community inclusion outings, DSA 1:1 or in a group

  • Assist in other areas as assigned not limited to other departments in the facility

  • Assist as needed with projects as assigned.
