Elmet Technologies LLC Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in Euclid, Ohio
Elmet Technologies is a leading producer of the high-performance metals including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium.
We are currently sourcing candidates for a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician at our Euclid, OH facility. This person will be responsible for repairing and installing mill, slitting, shearing, furnace and other equipment. Perform routine building maintenance and repairs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical devices and components, which would include bearings, gears, slides, ways, and blowers.
Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and repair all components, such as pumps, motors, cylinders and valves.
Troubleshoot furnace problems, remove and replace bricks, elements, rolls.
Fabricate parts using lathe, milling machine, drill, saw, grinder, and hand tools.
Assist other trades and roll changing, sweep and mop floors, clean and paint, snow removal, move equipment and furniture.
Use lift equipment to move and position material as necessary.
Move, level, align and adjust machinery and equipment along with new installation or location change.
Operate crane to lower basic assembly units to bedplate and align unit to centerline.
Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.
Utilize SAP to assure that all charges for maintenance hours and parts are charged to the appropriate work orders, departments or work centers.
Utilize SAP to track maintenance hours spent on repairs/PM.
Utilize SAP to track the usage of spare parts.
Maintain cross training initiatives within the Maintenance department, as directed by Maintenance leadership.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards.
Assure consistent product quality through established ISO 9001 production methods and techniques; understand cause and effect of process variables on final product.
Recommend improvements to safety and housekeeping procedures following the JSA procedures.
Perform preventative maintenance routines.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED; Vocational training is a plus.
3 to 5 years Previous Maintenance experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
Basic math skills are required to perform necessary job functions.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layouts, understand general tolerance and utilize measuring equipment.
Welding and fabrication knowledge
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Must utilize judgment and innovation to perform responsibilities, to decide whether or not to repair equipment and to determine how long repairs will take. Also, to shut down equipment for repairs or let equipment run, taking into consideration plant and departmental production, safety and quality guidelines.
Perform all tasks in an efficient, conscientious manner that contributes to the safety and quality goals of the company.
Basic knowledge of engineering drawings (mechanical, electrical and hydraulic).
Must possess a current fork truck and overhead crane license or acquire a license prior to operating a crane or fork truck.
Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate that this position be held by a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
