At Hill's EMEA, our Packaging team is at the forefront of innovation, working collaboratively with Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, and other functional teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions. Our team members are based across different EU regions, providing their expertise locally and regionally for rapid validation and commercialization. This position is based in Etten-Leur, Netherlands
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with Plant Operations, Marketing, R&D, Procurement, and other functional teams to develop and implement complex packaging projects with minimal supervision.
Initiate and coordinate line trials, lead technical discussions with suppliers and plant staff, and manage post-trial activities.
Record, analyze test data, and prepare detailed reports to provide actionable recommendations and conclusions to the business.
Understand the correlation between material performance and final package performance to master the validation and creation of new packaging specifications.
Build competitive advantage by identifying, evaluating, and integrating design trends and innovations, as well as scouting supplier and competitor developments.
Skills and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Material Science, or a relevant technical field.
Minimum of 3 years in packaging, with preference for experience in the food packaging industry.
Experience with both rigid and flexible packaging for retorted products.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, evaluate and manage risks in decision-making, and possess a troubleshooting mentality with openness to dialogue.
Basic Requirements:
Advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
Proficient with Google Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, SAP or a similar ERP system, and Cape Pack or similar packaging palletizing software.
