At Hill's EMEA, our Packaging team is at the forefront of innovation, working collaboratively with Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, and other functional teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions. Our team members are based across different EU regions, providing their expertise locally and regionally for rapid validation and commercialization. This position is based in Etten-Leur, Netherlands

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Plant Operations, Marketing, R&D, Procurement, and other functional teams to develop and implement complex packaging projects with minimal supervision.

• Initiate and coordinate line trials, lead technical discussions with suppliers and plant staff, and manage post-trial activities.

• Record, analyze test data, and prepare detailed reports to provide actionable recommendations and conclusions to the business.

• Understand the correlation between material performance and final package performance to master the validation and creation of new packaging specifications.

• Build competitive advantage by identifying, evaluating, and integrating design trends and innovations, as well as scouting supplier and competitor developments.

Skills and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Material Science, or a relevant technical field.

• Minimum of 3 years in packaging, with preference for experience in the food packaging industry.

• Experience with both rigid and flexible packaging for retorted products.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, evaluate and manage risks in decision-making, and possess a troubleshooting mentality with openness to dialogue.

Basic Requirements:

• Advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

• Proficient with Google Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, SAP or a similar ERP system, and Cape Pack or similar packaging palletizing software.
