Join Nespresso's Digital and Tech Enterprise Architecture team! We manage the Enterprise and Solution Architecture for Nespresso’s global application landscape, supporting all markets and HQ functions. Our architects drive innovation and new features for the business, all while spearheading a digital transformation to enhance our competitiveness and speed to market.

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to join our dynamic Digital and Technical community. Our team is collaborative and supportive, working together to integrate cutting-edge technologies and deliver features essential for Nespresso’s continued success.

The Enterprise Architect balances technological opportunities with business requirements and maintains a holistic view of the organisation’s strategy, processes, information and IT assets. S/He links the business mission, strategy and processes to the IT strategy. The Enterprise Architect is the guarantor of simplicity, agility and effectiveness of all IT products groups across the enterprise. The role cuts across all product groups to provide a consistent overall vision on how the different business capabilities, information, IT products and global / differentiated / tailored offers relate to each other. S/He is responsible for driving reuse and sharing of technology and best practices to maximise value delivered to the business. The Enterprise Architect is an owner of IT principles and standards and ensures the overall Enterprise Architecture and IT landscape are optimized to maximize business value while guaranteeing the required agility and speed to grow and innovate.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development:

  • Creates and manages governing principles to guide EA decision making. Ensures that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities (such as handling waivers) are associated with EA.

  • Leads identification and analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential effect on the enterprise and facilitate their testing with the Innovation team and the Product Managers Provides inputs and expertise to the Program. Managers and to Product Managers for budget definition and allocation of investments to meet business initiatives while optimizing the overall EA.

  • Builds the long-term strategic roadmap for all IT architecture, linked to the product groups, the information flows and the overall corporate objectives.

  • Supports the IT strategy and planning process to align continuously with the company’s business goals and objectives.

  • Integrates business and IT strategy into enterprise architecture roadmap.

  • Document the Enterprise Architecture artefacts inside the EA selected tool.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develops relationships with other enterprise leaders to understand current and emerging business needs.

  • Prepares and delivers comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategies.

  • Works with IT colleagues to ensure they have the appropriate information and knowledge at hand to be successful in what they do, in particular leads the Architect Community and supports their professionalization.

  • Promotes the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve how information flows.

  • Circulates and explains roadmaps to align partners and IT priorities.

Supplier & Sourcing Management:

  • Supports the design of the criteria for supplier evaluation, comparison and selection, and collaborates with sourcing for assessing vendor viability and risk in relation to target EA.

  • Influences strategic IT vendors in order to align their strategic direction to Nespresso's requirements (current and future).

Operational Effectiveness:

  • Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to ensure that the translation of business requirements into technological solutions takes into account the current and target EA for optimal results for both business and IT.

  • Analyses the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies or gaps to strategy and recommends solutions for improvement.

  • Collaborates on IT workforce management, including the sourcing, training and development of staff to secure that the EA is understood and servicing at best the product groups and the overall company.

  • Partners with other architects (Nestle EA, Solution Architects, etc.) to provide scalable and adaptable architectural solutions.

  • Manages and facilitates an agile review mechanism to evaluate product group proposals for architectural fit.

  • Analyses the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the EA and leads the discussions relative to future technology (hardware, software, cloud) choices and architecture direction.

Value Delivery Monitoring:

  • Monitors key business performance indicators to ensure IT product groups are aligned to business and IT objectives.

  • Supports the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of special projects such as mergers, acquisitions or divestitures.

  • Oversees EA implementation and ongoing refinement activities.

Position Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in at least two IT disciplines (such as infrastructure or security management, application development, middleware, information analysis) in a multitier environment.

  • 3+ years of experience as Enterprise Architect.

  • Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex IT solutions, products and platforms.

  • Experience communicating effectively at different levels in the organization in English.

  • Experience working in a global environment and with virtual teams.

  • Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking, and financial analysis.

  • Experience in using all layers of an Entreprise Architecture tool for ecosystem modelization.

  • Extensive expert knowledge in the area of digital business and technologies.

  • Extensive knowledge of standardized middleware options, communications protocols, data gateways and platform infrastructures.

  • Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management.

  • Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.

  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.

  • Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of IT strategic planning.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Kafka.

  • Experience with DevOps.
