JOB SUMMARY

The six months structured program contains assignments that will provide learning objectives that give students the opportunity to gain experience in the hotel industry, specifically the F&B discipline. The internship exposes a student in gaining a comprehensive overview of F&B in an above-property office environment.

The successful candidate must have strong analytical, organizational & communication skills, an excellent approach to customer service

as well as exhibit flexibility. He / She must have strong technical skills and knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel to the intermediate Level.

Hotel Operational experience, ideally in Events and Food & Beverage, is preferable.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Supports roll-out and implementation of Events-related hotel initiatives

  • Develops comprehensive training program for our associates in Meetings+Events in our hotels

  • Consolidates operational data for review and support analysis of findings

  • Creates powerful and compelling Power Point presentations pertaining to Meetings+Events initiatives/projects

  • Contributes input and insights on Events-related projects targeting to elevate the consumer experience

  • Develops standard templates design that can be implemented into Rooms discipline projects

  • Liaises with properties on the collection of information, to ensure positive and timely outcome of projects

  • Support the discipline and hotels on the day-to-day business requirements

CANDIDATE PROFILE

General:

  • Possess a passion for events and ever-changing requirements

  • Project-oriented and attention to details mindset

  • Language - Strong command of written and spoken English

  • Computer skills – Well versed in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel and web browsing tools

  • Possess skills to read and analyze basic financial information, ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information

  • Team player – Works well as an individual and with co-workers

  • A high degree of self-confidence, tact and resourcefulness in obtaining, presenting and interpreting information

  • Highly self-started, motivated individual who thrives in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment

Education:

  • High school or equivalent education standard required; degree education preferred

  • Demonstrated pursuit of career in Hospitality and/or Event Management preferred

OTHER DUTIES

  • Ensure high standard of personal presentation and grooming

  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, Business Partners and other organizations

  • Attends training sessions and meetings, in-person and virtual, when required

  • Able to travel and attend business trips only if required

  • Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned
