The Coca-Cola Company Senior Manager, Resource Allocation in Escazu, Costa Rica

Focus, Scope, & Impact:

  • Responsibility for OU DMI investments, focusing in Latam Central Zone (both Marketing Deductions and Direct Marketing Expenses), including support in main allocation processes: LRP, ABP, REs.

  • Responsible to lead and coordinate monthly rolling estimate DMI process, connecting with local finance teams and marketing finance.

  • Responsible to understanding and use of marketing and investment analysis tools and metrics; embedding a culture of clear financial responsibility in every budget owner.

  • Provide resource reallocations recommendations across the OU, Zones and functions, as well as across categories and brands, always based on fact based financial data to support the investment decisions.

  • Communicate business performance against specific KBIs to leadership team.

  • Support LRP process with Strategy and assure its connection to the Annual Business Plan.

  • Support Annual Business Plan process for DMI, including DMI allocation optimization and connection with LRP.

  • Support the creation of new analysis tools to enhance DMI allocation and evaluation.

  • Proactively participate in the continuous evolution of the Investment Committee.

  • Participate in the DMI closing process, including the efficient reallocation of funds.

KEY SUCCESS PARAMETERS

Experience

> 4 years of finance experience within KO system, in financial planning, budgeting, DMI controllership or commercial finance; MEM & Hyperion experience are a must.

Work Focus

  • Provide and explain key business and performance metrics to leadership team to allow proactive and timely investments decisions, including reallocations of funds

  • Support implementation of best-in-class financial analysis tools and methodologies

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with budget-owners, mostly outside of finance, and align on the primary goal of maximizing investment returns

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with marketing finance, to ensure data needed, in time and format, is received in order to generate insights and comply with process deliverables.

  • Coordinate with Platform Services to ensure proper investment allocation across category, brand and franchise operations so Management and Zone Presidents can readily understand status of all spend (actual, committed, remaining).

  • Recommend alternatives for the OU and the zone to meet or exceed its BP and RE commitments, including adjustment of investment decisions based on business performance and returns.

  • Support DMI ZBW process and productivity initiatives.

  • Strong ability to influence OU and Zone leaders using solid logic and fact-based support.

  • Ability to build and tell a compelling story to key stakeholders who might have some resistance or lack of understanding.

  • Ability to influence external stakeholders even when the external stakeholders have opposing views or position.

  • Presence that conveys confidence, respect and trust.

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.
