This is an exempt-level position.

***As this position requires a very specific skill set, we are accepting applicants from all global regions. However, more favorable location for this position are Decatur, IL, or Erlanger, KY, USA; Eppelheim, Germany; Hamburg, Germany; or Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is not a remote role, as the individual must work on-site at an ADM location.

To ensure business alignment, the Product Owner role will report to the Global Process Owner, but will have considerable interactions with the rest of the process governance, including: Accountable Executive, Executive Global Process Owner, Sub Process Owners, Process Advisory Group and Subject Matter Experts.

Position Summary:

Acquire to Retire (A2R) is an End-to-End (E2E) process area within the overall process framework for ADM’s enterprise.

The A2R workstream is focused on maximizing asset lifecycle value and plant capacity while optimizing costs to deliver the best possible value to our customers. Through a structured approach to asset design, acquisition, and management, A2R ensures the efficient use of capital, maintaining optimal inventory levels of spare parts and standardizing maintenance processes across all plants.

By centralizing data in a single location, and taking ownership of maintenance master data in SAP, A2R drives operational consistency and strategic decision-making to unlock asset potential. A2R has strong linkage to operations and procurement activities, as well as accounting.

The Product Owner:

  • Is a full-time role that is part of the business, and liaises with other E2E Product Owners (POs) – e.g. Record to Report, Source to Pay, Plan to Deliver, etc.

  • Serves as the voice of the business within 1ADM (ADM’s business transformation program), as well as other transformational projects

  • Owns the global A2R 1ADM SAP S/4 HANA product template, which includes both process and system design

  • Coordinates with process governance – A2R Global Process Owner (GPO)/Sub Process Owners (Asset Management / Capex) on process design

  • Coordinates with Global Solutions Lead (GSL) on technology enablement

  • Drives template to 1ADM releases via the 1ADM Release Product Leads (RPLs)

  • Coordinates non-1ADM activity with the global template to ensure alignment with defined process/system view

Job Responsibilities:

  • Owns the global SAP S/4 HANA product template for maintenance within the A2R governance framework (works closely with other CMMS product owners)

  • Leverages the governance framework to ensure alignment and translation of business needs into efficient processes and effective system functionality

  • Prioritizes functionality needs based on business value and risks, prioritizing the backlog

  • Closely collaborates with the Release Product Leads to ensure that the release design is within the overall global template, but also incorporates feedback in order to further build out the global template

  • Defines goals and priorities of 1ADM SAP A2R implementation increments (phases), in partnership with scrum team

  • Reinforces the program vision and global template throughout the entire implementation

  • Reviews, verifies, and signs-off on system features to ensure the solution meets business needs

  • Helps to coordinate change management activities, in partnership with Organizational Change Management team

  • Champions the process and system to the business

  • Translates business vision into the overall SAP template

  • Drives process and technology projects as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Position requires a four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or other equivalents

  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably with global exposure in a maintenance and/or CMMS role

  • Strong understanding of business principles and concepts

  • Design thinking, which supports the combining of many ideas into big-picture view

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately to ensure team’s success

  • Strong accountability, planning/organization, and teamwork

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to empower teams

  • Excellent analytical and lateral thinking skills

  • An enterprise-wide view of the business and appreciation for strategy, processes and enabling technologies

  • Ability to travel, including internationally; must be willing to travel/co-locate for workshops, and be flexible in their daily work times as they will be part of a global team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified in SAP PM or willingness to get certified

  • Capex experience, in addition to finance or risk management, is considered an asset

  • Keen understanding of maintenance reporting and ERP systems is considered a plus

  • Experience in working in international teams (in person & virtual) and in managing external consultants/software providers is considered a plus
