Who will you be working with?

The Senior Project Leader – Controls Frequency Productivity will lead efforts to identify, execute, and track productivity initiatives on Controls and Electronic components for Global Services Organization (GSO).

In this role you will influence cross-functional teams, lead innovative loco maintenance cost out projects, and be accountable for the short and long-term results of a multimillion-dollar project portfolio.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • 5+ years of experience in Field Services, Operations, Technology, Project Management or Service Contract Management

  • Prior experience on Controls / Mechanical components as it applies to locomotive product line.

  • Test knowledge and data analysis background

  • Familiar with tollgate or similar business approval processes

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time, both domestic and internationally

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge / understanding of the locomotive control system (SW and HW)

  • Understanding of test processes, data analysis and root cause identification

  • Understanding of supply chain, shop operations and material processes

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team

  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders and work across the matrix organization and project manage issues to resolution

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong business, technical, and financial acumen

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of Transportation and Global Service processes

What will your typical day look like?

  • Identify productivity initiatives on mechanical and controls components based on technical expertise of locomotive systems, SW, HW, and their operations

  • Oversee Control’s project through the scoping, active, and cut-in phases to successful project implementation

  • Support a cross-functional team from Services, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Risk, and external suppliers to meet all project milestones (Such as tollgates, design reviews, and PPAP) ahead of schedule

  • Maintain a Multi-Generational Product Plan for controls components in partnership with product management, engineering, and services teams

  • Drive internal execution of detailed project plans to meet large project targets

  • Lead synergy initiatives across broader business portfolio to optimize cost

  • Facilitate communication within the team, as needed, to achieve milestones and effectively manage communications with internal / external project stakeholders

  • Identify risks to project execution, schedule, or valuation and facilitate the mitigation of those risks with the appropriate team

  • Continually develop a network of resources in support of project execution

  • Identify opportunities to expand the project in ways that bring value to our customer and satisfy our profitability requirements

  • Manage the project budget and timeline, to ensure the resources are available to complete the project within budget and on time to meet customer obligations

  • Professionally represent Wabtec during all customer and supplier interactions

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com .
