TEKsystems OBIX Fetal Monitoring in Erie, Pennsylvania

Description:

We are looking for a local resource, if possible, that has previous OBIX experience. This would require travel to 15 UPMC Women's Health Hospitals around Western PA, Central PA, North PA, Southern NY, and Western Maryland. Needle in a haystack situation. Travel may need to occur weekly for setup, testing, and go live.

Important Info: We have a STRONG preference for candidates in the PA area. Potential resources will be able to travel to at least one of the UPMC regions where we will need resources. Locations in PA would include the Erie, Williamsport, and Harrisburg regions, so we’d look for candidates who are driving distance to one of those regions. Travel to other regions (Chautauqua NY and Western Maryland) will also be required.

Contract Term: 18-24 months

Resource Description: We are seeking 1 Systems Analyst candidate. Ideal candidates will be a self-motivated, possess strong communications skills, and embody the ability to quickly learn new technologies. Previous experience with any fetal monitoring system, especially the OBIX platform, would be a plus. The candidate will work within a highly collaborative team environment but will be expected to independently perform tasks to keep project on schedule and on budget.

Job Description:

Systems Analyst role supporting OBIX fetal monitoring solution. Tasks will include on-site equipment walkthroughs, testing GE and Phillips devices with the new platform, configuring servers/solution suite, HL7 interface testing, documentation and training support, collaboration with vendor (device receiving, network setup, device config, and deployment).

On-site work is a requirement of this position. On-site locations include our North region (Erie PA and Chautauqua NY area), the Altoona and Williamsport region, the Harrisburg PA region, Western Maryland, and the Pittsburgh region. Analyst will be expected to travel to sites to assist with device planning and testing.

Ideal candidates will have experience within nursing informatics, healthcare IT, Biomed, and/or change management experience, as well as the ability to work in ever-changing environment.

Previous experience with medical device platforms is exceptionally helpful. Experience with HL7 from a testing and project management perspective highly encouraged. Experience with OBIX, any other fetal monitoring platform, GE and Philips medical devices would also be helpful

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide application support, build, and configuration for OBIX fetal monitoring platform.

  2. Provide HL7 testing support for validating interface connectivity and test cases between the OBIX platform and EPIC Rhapsody.

  3. Assist with on-site device testing, planning/walkthroughs, and device receiving/configuration.

  4. Work closely with vendor to ensure that all terminals and OBIX servers are configured correctly.

  5. Complete device testing for fetal monitors at multiple hospitals

  6. Triage and respond to production support issues with the fetal monitoring system

  7. Organize work timelines and status to keep projects on track, scheduling project meetings with stakeholders and vendors, tracking status, and pushing project milestones.

  8. Assess customer's configuration requirements and education needs; plan and deliver equipment and application education; apply product and clinical knowledge to troubleshoot and solve problems.
