The Director of Operations will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies to meet company goals in terms of efficiency, profitability, and sustainability. The Director of Operations will work closely with senior leadership to align operations with company-wide objectives and business growth strategies. The Director of Operations will lead initiatives for continuous improvement in operational processes, focusing on Lean, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies. Job duties for the Director of Opearations in Erie, PA.

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations across multiple plants or facilities, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize workflow, minimize downtime, and ensure on-time delivery of products.

  • Monitor capacity planning and resource allocation to meet production demands while maintaining cost-efficiency.

  • Develop and manage global supply chain strategies to ensure timely sourcing of raw materials and components.

  • Oversee logistics and inventory management to prevent shortages or excess stock, ensuring the smooth flow of materials.

  • Establish relationships with suppliers and logistics partners, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance.

  • Ensure the company’s products meet internal and external quality standards, as well as regulatory and environmental requirements.

  • Lead efforts for ISO certifications, safety protocols, and compliance with international regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS).

  • Implement a robust quality control system and manage teams responsible for inspecting and testing materials and finished products.

  • Direct and manage operations teams, including production managers, engineers, and support staff, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.

  • Identify training and development needs to ensure staff has the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to cost controls and efficient use of resources.

  • Analyze financial performance data, identify opportunities for cost reductions, and report on KPIs to senior management.

  • Oversee capital expenditures and investments in new technologies, equipment, and tooling.

  • Lead the integration of new technologies and automation in production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support scalability.

  • Assess and implement advanced tooling solutions that enhance product quality and reduce manufacturing time and costs.

  • Manage operations across multiple geographic regions, ensuring alignment of processes and best practices across global locations.

  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, addressing operational issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements for the Director of Operations in Erie, PA.

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field

  • 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role

  • Strong Plastics background

  • Ability to travel
