Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Quality Engineer to provide technical support for new product introductions (NPI). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing purchasing, bill of materials (BOMs), part tracking, and supplier engagement. This position requires collaboration with engineering teams and supply chain partners to ensure seamless hardware delivery, compliance, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Engagement:
Collaborate with engineering teams on hardware releases, drawing reviews, and tolerance analysis.
Proactively communicate with product and process stakeholders to address requirements early.
Extract and manage complete bills of materials (BOMs).
Apply general Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles for acceptance evaluations.
Supplier Identification & Purchase Order Management:
Work with suppliers to gather and review quote submissions.
Prioritize and manage items with OSS partners, escalating urgent issues when necessary.
Drive first-time yield and on-time delivery for critical-path components.
Serve as the primary liaison with outside vendors through clear verbal and written communication.
Issue purchase orders and oversee all procurement-related activities.
Communicate vendor requirements, validate drawing compliance, and ensure adherence to expectations.
Expedite hardware delivery as schedules evolve and change.
Provide logistical support for hardware drop-shipped from OSS partners.
BOM & Hardware Tracking:
Maintain accurate and up to date BOMs with delivery dates, costs, and processing steps.
Ensure POs are properly issued, accepted, and tracked for completeness.
Monitor and ensure all hardware (COTS and custom) is on-site, documented, and compliant with specifications.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor"s degree in engineering or supply chain preferred.
8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality, purchasing, and project management; ideally within turbine engine manufacturing or aerospace support industries.
Strong understanding of GD&T practices and applications.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex procurement actions and vendor relationships.
Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required.
Belcan provides a competitive pay and benefits package. Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $90,000-110,000 yearly. Guidelines vary based on many factors including but not limited to education, qualifications, experience, discipline, geographic location, market, and business considerations.
