Job Title: Medical Laboratory TechnologistJob Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing and will play a crucial role in delivering quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.

• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

• Report accurate and timely test results.

• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

• Inventory and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field, or meet local regulatory CLIA State requirements.

• Minimum 1-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is preferred.

• ASCP or AMT certification is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

• Proficient with computers.

• High level of attention to detail.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.

• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a laboratory or medical lab technician.

• MLT qualification or equivalent.

Work Environment

The work hours are from 1500 to 2330, Monday to Friday. There are no weekend or holiday shifts required. The role requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
