Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) is currently looking for a Data Solution Architect Senior Level 4 or Lead Level 5 to join their team in Englewood, CO . This position will be working in the Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) organization within Boeing Global Services. This role will be critical to enabling the DAS Business Transformation to become a worldclass SaaS company through identifying process opportunities, driving improvements through various methodologies and ultimately enabling the business to deliver customer value at speed with quality. This role is critical to enabling an AI Inside future for the DAS organization to enable our people to focus more on customer outcomes.

A successful candidate for this role, will excel at collaborating closely with multiple levels of leadership, defining internal data and AI strategies alongside data analytics partners, identifying process opportunities, defining strategic plans and facilitating various workshops and problem-solving activities across a global business. This role will require strategic and systemic thinking while also being able to influence leaders and individuals to address opportunities also as the tactical levels. The role will be flexible/ hybrid with some on site work as merited.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data pipelines and workflows for efficient data movement across systems and platforms.

  • Design and optimize data integration processes, ETL mechanisms, and data synchronization techniques.

  • Design and maintain the system architecture supporting data storage, processing, and retrieval.

  • Select appropriate database technologies, data warehousing solutions, and distributed computing frameworks.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, 3rd party vendors and process engineers to align the architecture with business value streams and AI initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development and deployment of AI models and algorithms.

  • Implement data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques for AI models.

  • Integrate AI models into data pipelines and systems.

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems, ensuring data quality and integrity.

  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.

  • Stay updated with advancements in data engineering, AI, and system architecture.

  • Continuously improve infrastructure and processes to enhance efficiency and support advanced analytics.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Englewood, CO location . This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 7+ years data engineering experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of data integration and ETL processes, with experience in designing and implementing efficient data pipelines.

  • Proficiency in system architecture design, including selecting appropriate database technologies, data warehousing solutions, and distributed computing frameworks.

  • Familiarity with AI concepts and algorithms, with the ability to collaborate with data scientists in implementing AI models and integrating them into data systems.

  • Experience in data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques to support AI model development.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to monitor and optimize the performance of data systems, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.

  • Experience with Databricks, Unity catalog, Data mesh

  • Experience in Cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years data engineering experience

  • 10-15+ years data engineering experience and transforming internal businesses through automation and other technologies.

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Aviation Industry Experience Strongly Preferred.

  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence within complex business value streams.

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 4:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Level 5:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.). preferred, but not required.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Level 4: $119,850.00-$162,150.00

Level 5: $138,550.00-$187,450.00
