Amentum Architect 2 in Englewood, Colorado

Amentum is currently searching for an Architect 2 to work in our Englewood, CO office, to perform basic architectural/engineering calculations; preparing specifications, reports and related data tables. Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups. Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plans and designs new or existing structures, primarily on federal government sites, nuclear facilities, and other structural properties.

  • Selects, evaluates, and implements architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects.

  • Prepares proposals, presentations, and reports for clients with regards to safety standards, design expectations, project specifications, and compliance with government regulations.

  • Ensures successful design by producing scale or technical drawings, blueprints, and architectural models using computer-aided design (CAD) and other tools.

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, Architects maintain project coordination with all other disciplines on an assigned project.

  • Provides Supervising Architect status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.

  • Supervises, assigns work, sets work priorities, evaluates and trains technical and architectural personnel.

  • Provides technical assistance and guidance to technical and architectural personnel.

  • Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities.

  • Assures quality, quantity, and completeness of the architectural/engineering work required.

  • Plans and schedules architectural/engineering efforts associated with assigned projects.

  • Maintains timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports regarding assigned activities.

  • Maintains proper architectural/engineering files and records.

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various

  • complexities within approved schedules and budgets.

  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

  • Performs other architectural/engineering-related work as required.

  • Prepare plans and detail drawings working from sketches or Engineers' notes.

  • Develop 3-D and solid CAD/CAE models to assist in the development of equipment arrangement drawings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • US Citizen

  • Education: Bachelor of science or arts degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent education.

  • Experience: 7+ years of architectural experience.

  • Must be a Registered Architect in a home state.

  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.

  • Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university

  • Working knowledge of Revit

  • Working knowledge of regulatory codes and standards.

  • Working knowledge of the design of nuclear or heavy industrial facilities.

  • Ability to prepare various specifications, calculations and drawings.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $82K - $126K annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
