Description

Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking to hire a Mining Electrical Service Engineer in Ely, NV. This full-time benefited position will Provide technical assistance with focus on electrical drive system to customers to improve and/or maintain machine reliability and to ensure customer satisfaction with Caterpillar mining machines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Resolve field problems by investigating, analyzing, and working with engineering to develop solutions.Commission and tune drive systems for new machines and upgrade packages for existing machines.

  • Provide recommendations for hardware and software improvements to increase productivity and decrease maintenance.

  • A willingness to work both mechanically and electrically on all Caterpillar Mining Equipment

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent degree

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in DC drive systems.

  • Software requirements include MS Office Products: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred experience includes PLC Software – Siemens, Allen Bradley, GE; Analog and Digital Drive Systems – Siemens, GE. MSHA Certification preferred.

  • Must be willing and prepared to travel domestically 50% of the time.

  • Individuals must have exceptional written and oral communication skills, provide clear and concise reports, and record and interpret electrical system signals and recordings to help define and correct problem condition
