Job Description
JOB TITLE: HR BUSINESS PARTNER
MAIN FUNCTION:
The HR Business Partner – Works with management and employees, providing hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on a variety of employee relations and business issues. Serves as organizational resource providing support in a variety of methods to department, projects and committees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and drive HR programs / initiatives forward within various areas, while always ensuring alignment with a company's business objectives (e.g. engagement surveys, trainings, retention programs, etc).
Acts as change agent to business through process design and approaches that support change and transformation – striving to lead mutual processes to best practice status.
Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation / application; and organizational development.
Evaluates issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for HR solution and program designs (e.g.. training to address certain individual / organizational needs).
Coordinates with various HR functions to achieve optimal results (i.e. Payroll, Compensation/ Benefits).
Communicates, advises, answers questions and makes recommendations regarding human resources issues (i.e. policy and procedures, employment, discipline, benefits, union contract interpretation), for both employees and managers/department heads.
Provide timely information and/or education for all levels of a company on HR issues.
Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management and employee development goals.
Collaborate with the HR team to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results.
Involved in special projects / committees to support the overall strategy and department goal.
Participates in professional activities to keep abreast of technical and legal developments in the personnel area.
May serve as back-up for other Human Resource personnel in their absence.
Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements
Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks
Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
Proven acuity in MS office suite, internet and data-base management
EDUCATION:
Appropriate Bachelors Degree required with concentration in Human Resource Administration preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three to five years experience handling human resources policy issues, problem resolution required. Labor relations experience strongly preferred.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:
No CPR required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Routine office jobs.
EXPOSURE CATEGORY:
Category III. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. And Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
