We are looking for aCNC Setter, who will lead a defined number of CNC machines as a super work cell. This responsibility includes mastering the work cell machines, setting up jobs, inspecting final parts, communicating with operators or attendants in the same super work cell, communicating with maintenance and those responsible for tooling and programming. This full-time position is based out of Cashco, Inc. headquarters in Ellsworth, KS.

First Shift: 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday)

Second Shift: 1 - 11:30 p.m. (Monday through Thursday)

Responsibilities:

• Set up machines in area and run first part to initiate part production from raw material.
• Do first part inspection and make necessary adjustments to qualify the initial part example produced by the set up.
• Capture and report any problems with set up sheets and/or programs.
• Communicate updates, issues and concerns with existing or newly developed documents.
• Pre-build tooling for next jobs on each machine to maintain efficiency while detecting problems with tooling before the set-up is active.
• Capture actual set up times and run times for the system to be updated to communicate accurate times which represent actual part costs.
• Assist and lead SMED/Lean activities in area to support overall lean objective.
• Document machine crashes to effectively communicate what precisely happened during the crash.
• Submit maintenance requests to supervisor.
• Run machines when all other tasks are completed to maintain competence in day-to-day machining while contributing to an efficient work cell.
• Keep area clean to maintain 5S standards.
• Setter will lead the attendants and operators in the same work cell area acting as the primary contact for the same work cell area.
• Shop supervisor will rely on the setters input for appraising performance of the attendant and operators of the same work cell.
• Setter may need to make decisions that have impact or consequences beyond his/her area of responsibility. May make limited decisions for the area with review by superiors.

Education:

• High school diploma, or equivalent.

Experience and Skills:

• Extensive machining background experience required
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mathematical background.
• Previous manufacturing experience required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks daily.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Must be extremely reliable and dependable.
• Must be a team player.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.

Continuous movement of parts weighing up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations are required in all positions.

Education and experience will determine beginning wage.
