Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead our team in Elliot Lake, Ontario. The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership and organizational skills combined with project management and experience in a manufacturing industry setting.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a staff of Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Control.

  • Responsible for the preparation of manufacturing studies and methods for hard rock products and prototypes to document manufacturing requirements and procedures.

  • Responsible for the design, development, modification and implementation of equipment and processes

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and improve productivity and reduce costs.

  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout and establishing and implementing manufacturing plans

  • Actively drive OPEX/continuous process improvement activities including Lean, 5S, process/equipment innovation and other initiatives.

  • Establish metrics for operations output and manufacturing engineering deliverables to be utilized by management.

  • Assist operations departments with interdepartmental business process development and maintenance and system setup to support process functionality.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school in related field required, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Process Engineering.

  • Three (3) years of related experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, with two (2) years of supervisory experience.

  • Proven track record of leadership skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management and customers. Must be able to effectively delegate and work collaboratively with other functional departments.

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.

  • Understanding of Bill of Materials, ECN, NCR and ERP/MRP systems used in manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate problem solving and cross functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and perform factory, people, and resource capacity analysis and identify and solve constraints before they become problems.
