The Role: The Department of Curriculum, Supervision, & Educational Leadership (CSEL) is seeking an Assistant Professor of Education with a focus in social justice, contemporary multicultural issues, and culturally responsive teaching. Primary responsibility includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Multicultural Education and Culturally Responsive Teaching. Candidates with knowledge of and connection to Tribal communities of the Pacific Northwest would also have the opportunity to teach courses integrating Tribal sovereignty, culture, and history for teacher candidates. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications, grant writing, conference presentations, etc.), program development and assessment, and professional service. Faculty will integrate CWU's commitment to diversity and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all students. CWU and the CSEL department have a long tradition of preparing teachers and school administrators.
