Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manufacturing Specialist level 1 or level 2 to support on-site at our Elkton, MD location. The level of position will depend upon demonstrated skills, experience, education, and competency.
The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach, FL and San Jose, CA.
The role of the Supply Chain Manufacturing Specialist encompasses the effective scheduling, oversight of production processes, and the actual manufacturing of products, thereby enhancing value through various operations such as moving, separating, forming, machining, and chemical treatments. This position is crucial in guaranteeing that deliverable products are produced to meet customer demands. Additionally, the specialist is tasked with overseeing the creation of custom-engineered products, which are specifically designed, developed, and manufactured in alignment with unique customer requests or contractual obligations. Furthermore, they are responsible for managing and developing production protocols, monitoring production performance, and ensuring the proper handling of information, materials, equipment, and facilities, all while adhering to regulatory standards.
Job Duties:
Identify raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications, schedules, and bills of material (BOMs)
Generate and track purchase requisitions to support future build needs
Actively status Purchase Orders (POs) across assigned programs to ensure adherence to schedule, quantity, and invoicing timing
Track material quality and initiate actions to extend or eliminate expiring material
Coordinate with material program management, purchasing, production, logistics, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate quantities of materials are always on hand
Support and assist activities within multiple disciplines across the Supply Chain process
Able to resolve complex issues in a proactive, creative, and analytical manner
Has strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Can help identify risks and determine mitigation strategies and has a mindset of continual improvement
Basic Qualifications for Associate Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 1):
This role places a strong emphasis on skills and the ability to proactively address program needs. We will consider candidates who meet one of the following criteria: a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field; a bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of experience preferably in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field or a master's degree with 0 years of experience in preferably in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field
MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
Basic Qualifications for Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 2):
This role places a strong emphasis on skills and the ability to proactively address program needs. We will consider candidates who meet one of the following criteria: a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years experience preferably in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field; a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field or a master's degree with 1 year of experience in preferably in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field
MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
Preferred Qualifications for both roles:
Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, production control and manufacture of products
Experience with raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications and schedules
Experience with purchase requisitions

Salary Range: $59,900 - $85,300
Salary Range 2: $68,800 - $103,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
