Job Title: Sr Packaging Engineer

Job Description

As a Sr Packaging Engineer, you will follow TMC Quality System requirements, including change control, validation, documentation practices, and design control requirements. You will collaborate and maintain cross-functional partnerships with New Product Development Packaging Engineers. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide day-to-day support on existing packaging/labeling processes and equipment. You will lead and execute packaging/labeling related projects from design through validation, work schedules, expenditures, attend meetings, coordinate resources, and prepare reports as required. You will ensure effective communication of ideas, information, and issues to appropriate stakeholders. Additionally, you will provide engineering expertise in the design, fabrication, development, installation, validation, and qualification of packaging/labeling equipment and software. You may also conduct feasibility studies and/or provide proper documentation for project justification and training to ensure proper operation of the equipment. You will provide technical assistance and leadership in the planning and implementation of packaging/labeling projects to develop, install, and qualify new processes for manufacturing or improving existing processes. You will maintain high awareness of technical trends and developments in the packaging industry. You will assign, delegate, and assist in the completion of engineering tasks or projects to lower-level engineers and may coordinate the activities of support groups such as purchasing, scheduling, and production. You will collect data from various sections and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Hard Skills

• BS in packaging, mechanical, or related engineering field

• 7 years of relevant work experience in the packaging, medical, or regulated industry preferred

• DMAIC/Six-Sigma certification preferred

• Experience in a manufacturing environment for designing, specifying, assembling, and validating packaging/labeling equipment, processes, and software

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Elkton, Maryland and some days remote.

Work Environment

New product development environment with approximately 50,000 square feet. The facility supports 10 products with different SKUs and sizes, all related to vascular access, closure, catheters, embolics, etc. The work environment is a high-volume manufacturing environment, for example, one product at 2 million units and another at 1 million units. An example of a product is a vascular closure device, which is used in arteries during stent therapy.
