Job Summary: Express Employment Professionals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distribution Manager to oversee our distribution operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the logistical and transportation operations of the company, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the scheduling and routes of deliveries and shipments
Oversee the loading of trucks and ensure goods are loaded correctly
Monitor delivery costs and strive to reduce expenses wherever possible
Supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance
Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements
Analyze data to monitor delivery performance and plan improvements
Manage the security of the warehouse and stock, implementing systems to prevent loss
Assess the quality of work and the need for improvement or changes
Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations
Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers, and team members to achieve business goals
Maintain health and safety standards in the warehouse and on transportation
Implement operational changes for better efficiency
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience as a Distribution Manager or in a similar managerial role
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to oversee and manage multiple distribution channels effectively
Strong knowledge of legal requirements and regulations related to distribution and transportation
Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) are a plus
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
