Job Description
Job Summary:
The Catholic Charities Day Programs Mental Health Practitioner is responsible to carry out the clinical program as outlined in the Treatment Plan for Day Students in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Carries out skills counseling with students as outlined by a mental health professional.
Completes all documentation and communication within the established timelines and guidelines.
Maintains professional relationships with community resources and providers to collaborate with and refer students to as appropriate.
Participates in required program functions including staff meetings, supervisory sessions and Circle of Courage. Provides direct supervision to clients.
Initiates professional development by participating in internal and external training and development opportunities.
Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma
Job Related Experience: Must meet the State of Minnesota requirements for a Mental Health Practitioner and have a minimum of 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to children with mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities; OR Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university; OR Have at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience as above and receive clinical supervision until the 4,000 total hours have been obtained.
