Lab Technician Responsibilities:\ - Track chemical, test panel and supply inventories in the lab and, as needed, submit purchasing requisitions\ - Maintain chemical labeling and storage areas in the lab\ - Perform receiving inspections related to chemicals, test panels and equipment received for lab use\ - Perform testing related to the chemical and contaminant concentrations of the process solution chemistries in the Metal Finishing Department\ - Determine necessary chemical additions required to maintain process solution compliance\ - Record process test results and additions while maintaining computer files containing such information\ - Perform material analysis including coating weight, thickness, paint adhesion, corrosion and abrasion resistance, electrical resistivity, etch and anodize rates, etc.\ - Maintain document control and organization of all product testing being conducted\ - Prepare specialized chemical process solutions for non-standard customer testing and/or processing requests\ - Perform small, specialized, chemical processes as required by customer requests\ - Complete applicable data records and inspection logs\ - Participate in on-going training sessions related to chemical processing, product testing, process testing, and quality control\ - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, periodic testing, and performance evaluations\ - Develop a thorough understanding of applicable general procedures as well as safety and environmental practices and procedures
