This position is per diem (generally around 20 hours per week but could be depending on business needs). Ability to cover 3 rd shift is a must and ability to also cover 1 st and 2 nd shift as needed is highly preferred. Our office is located at 910 Wallace Avenue, Leitchfield, KY 42754.

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the registration of all patients' accessing services with emphasis on patient access/satisfaction, insurance/demographic verification and accuracy, scheduling, and point of service collection, while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and ethics

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Greet patients

  • Coordinate patient flow to reduce wait times

  • Assist patients with intake processes

  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles

  • Process walk-in patients and visitors

  • Confirms eligibility and verifies insurance benefits

  • Ensures all necessary demographic and billing information is obtained for patients and entered in the computer system timely and accurately

  • May schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs

  • Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options, and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment

  • Counsels’ patients regarding insurance benefits and recommends alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate

  • Accepts payments and co-pays

  • Communicates effectively with insurance companies, external agencies, patients, physicians, and team members

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Ability to work per diem (generally around 20 hours a week) with the ability to cover 3 rd shift hours (overnight shift) at minimum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to cover 1 st shift hours

  • Ability to cover 2 nd shift hours

  • 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry

  • 1+ years of experience in Customer Service

  • Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology

The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
