Akebono Brake Corporation Material Handler - Shipping/Receiving (Warehouse) in Elizabethtown, Kentucky

The Materials Associates are responsible for performing the following duties: The specific job assignment may entail some or all of the job functions. Associates are expected to rotate through various job functions.

We are looking for a Material Handler - Dock Control for 1st shift working Monday-Friday

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming, outgoing and being moved around the factor to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records

  • Checks all materials being moved for accurate labeling, quantity and paperwork.

  • Operates lift truck or use hand truck to move shipments from shipping and receiving area to storage or work area

  • Operate a tugger pulling carts to pick up materials in the raw materials supermarket and delivering them to the production lines

  • Affixes shipping labels and identification labels on items as required

  • Processes computer transaction for incoming, outgoing and inter-plant moves in MAPICS and Future 3 as required

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, reject damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.  Routes items to departments

  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications

  • Maintains good housekeeping throughout the materials storage areas

  • Complies with all safety policies and procedures

  • May be required to train others

  • Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience of two years working in a manufacturing materials department.

  • Able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Two years experience entering computer base transactions

  • Three years Fork lift driving experience and a current certification
