Akebono Brake is seeking a direct-hire manufacturing engineer to join their Elizabethtown facility.  The facility is scheduled to close at the end of 2025.  Production Volume will remain constant until then and this position will be responsible for operational availability, process improvements, as well as other engineering aspects to manufacturing machining and assembly.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

•Provide support to the production and maintenance teams to assist with trouble shooting, process improvements and other production engineering related processes. 

•Determines the parts, equipment, tools and processes needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.

•Plans, designs and analyzes manufacturing processes for facility.

•Lead continuous improvement projects in the following fields:

Scrap reduction

Reject reduction

Equipment uptime

Changeover time reductions

•Plan and manage improvement projects by completing the following: 

Develop project timeline and ensure adherence to schedule

•Develop, maintain, and improve production operations.

•Experience with PLC programming for the purpose of trouble shooting process development.

•Experience with high volume operations.

•Experience with designing part fixtures and tooling.

•Proficiency with CAD software, solid modeling software is a requirement and AutoCAD is a plus.

•Able to work with others in a team environment to achieve a common goal.

•Able to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

•Proficient with MS Office products.

•Experience in automotive industry, preferred.

Qualifications

•Prefer an Associate degree in applicable discipline of engineering, prefer Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline of engineering.

•Minimum of one (5) year work related experience in an industrial environment.
