Job Overview:
Mental Health Workers provide care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians. Mental Health Workers closely monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
HS Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
Preferred:
Previous experience working with psychiatric and/or substance abuse patients
Previous experience in psychology or sociology
Scheduling Requirements:
Shift working, 3-11pm
Monday-Friday, also rotate every other weekend
Full-Time
Essential Functions:
Monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
Perform EKGs
Draw labs and collect specimens from patients
Assist patients in their daily activities such as: eating, dressing, and bathing
Provide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patients
Assist in non-violent crisis intervention
