As a part of Optum, the largest network of medical groups in the country, Optum California is seeking a Full Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team Remote Team in Southern California. At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing physician-led care locally.

Primary Responsibilities

• This is a full-time, remote position with various shift coverage including and not limited to weeknights, weekend, and holidays.

• Anticipated hours will be 8pm-8am, 80 hours in a pay period. Position will require schedule flexibility with weekends required. Possible schedule may look like 3x12 one week and 3x12 plus 1x8 the next week to meet 80 hours.

• 95% work from home, all equipment provided

• Telecommute post training (1 week of onsite training at El Segundo)

• Receive escalated overnight calls from nurse triage

• Support after-hours assignments and tasks for sites located across Southern California

• tech savvy, utilize multiple EMRs (Touchworks, Epic, NextGen)

• Tele-med acute care phone and video visits

• Option to work more hours if desired

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a four-year college and/or a professional certification beyond a four-year college

• Active Unrestricted California State Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License

• Current California DEA certificate or the ability to obtain prior to employment

• Access to reliable high-speed internet

• Able to work well with others in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of clinical practice experience

• Urgent Care or ER experience

• Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics

• Proficiency in common medication indications, side effects, and contraindications

• Confidence with clinical decision making over telephone visit

• Live locally, within one hour of El Segundo, CA

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $109,513 to $160,000 per year. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
