Certified medical assistant

Responsibilities:

Measure and record vital signs Prepare patients for examinations Assist provider with exams and minor procedures Perform basic lab tests and EKGs Prepare and administer medications and immunizations Prior authorizations for procedures, testing, DME supplies etc. Triage of patient phone calls Work with team to maintain Patient Centered Medical Home certification Assist with care management of chronic diseases Regular communication with providers regarding patient care both verbally and through the EMR Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA safety standards Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, medical and financial information per HIPAA.

Qualification/Education/Requirements:

• Current Medical Assistant Certification (Required)
• 2 years' experience (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Required)
• EMR experience (Required)
• Strong writing and verbal skills
• Ability to work through interruptions, manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations.

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
• Degree in medical assistance

Job Types: Contract, Full-time

Salary: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• EMR systems: 2 years (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 2 years (Preferred)

Language:

• English/Spanish (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
