Major/Essential Functions:
• Provides patient care to newborns, children, and adolescents in hospital setting
• Supervises medical students, residents, and advanced practice professionals in the hospital
setting
• Participates in the education of medical students and residents
• Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and scholarship
• Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as
committee work Contributes to the community through academically-related public
service complimentary to the institutional mission
• Ensures compliance with HIPPAA and billing regulations
• Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's
Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
• Participates in committees and other administrative duties within the department and the
school of medicine

Preferred Qualifications:
• Board certification in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American
Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics
• Progressive experience in management and leadership in an academic health center
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Emerging regional or national professional reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
• Experience in teaching students and residents in pediatric hospital medicine
