Position Description:
Performs specialized work in conducting original research. Work is performed under general supervision with
evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. This position is funded by department grants and dependent on grant funding availability.

Major/Essential Functions:
Conduct literature reviews.
Write and contribute to publications. Prepares articles, reports, and presentations.
Analyze and evaluate clinical data gathered during research.
Code and verify data in accordance with specified research protocol and coding procedures and enter data into a computer database and/or spreadsheet application for subsequent analysis.
Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes. Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork).
Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
MD or PhD preferred with research experience.
Medical expertise particularly in GI diseases.
Should have a record of activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of research.
Ability to analyze research data and synthesize results for reporting results of original research investigations to medical journals and scientific meetings under supervision and direction of PI.
Ability to write manuscripts for PI to be submitted to medical journals.
