Fabrication Shop Coordinator

Position Description:

Performs coordinative work in the operation of specific equipment or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific equipment as well as the support of student projects and files to successfully produce digitally fabricated work. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Operate the laser cutters, troubleshooting student files as needed, preparing materials.

  • Operate the 3D printers, use associated software, and replace fiber/filament as needed.

  • Be knowledgeable about an architectural shop fabrication capabilities and equipment and be able to demonstrate those to students.

  • Good communication skills with students and managing files and expectations
