The GN Hearing Eindhoven R&D department: Center-of-Excellence for intelligent audio solutions
At our GN Hearing R&D office in Eindhoven, we work on algorithm design and technology innovations that lead to software solutions that improve life for people with hearing needs. The team specializes in digital signal processing (DSP) and machine learning (ML) for future intelligent audio solutions. We are expanding our algorithm prototype activities and would like to welcome a new research scientist/engineer who would like to change the hearing world.
As Senior Audio Research Engineer your will design and develop real time audio applications for hearing instruments/hearables and propose feasible algorithm solutions in code that fit within GN’s embedded chip technology constraints and present results and pitch feasible applications at different levels within the organization.
Furthermore, you have to follow relevant research on speech processing (e.g. by attending conferences) and setup simulation experiments and real time audio emulation.
Collaboration, communication and building relationship with internal stakeholders will be of great importance.
Moreover, you have to support IP portfolio of GN by generating and submitting patent ideas to GNs patent department and occasionally travel to our headquarter in Denmark.
Your profile
PhD in signal processing or machine learning, such as Electrical Engineering background
Experience with embedded software for DSP/ML. (MATLAB DSP, C, Python,TensorFlow, DNN, Edge AI)
Experience in algorithm design for multi-channel noise reduction
Experience in downscaling algorithm complexity for constraint embedded purposes
Versatile programming skills and familiarity with agile software processes and version control
Understanding of hearing science, acoustics and psychoacoustics is beneficial

Fluent in English (verbally and written)
