Join the Philips Avent team and contribute to the innovative world of Mother & Childcare/Women's Health products. We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineering or Industrial DesignInternto join our dynamic Research & Advanced Development team in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. As anintern, you'll embark on an exciting journey of exploring, designing, and prototyping new ideas for our baby bottle and soother product portfolio.

Your role:

  • Collaborate with our passionate team to brainstorm and explore new functionalities, aesthetic improvements, and product optimizations.

  • Conduct brief investigations and experiments on new manufacturing methods.

  • Create and iterate on multiple design and prototype concepts to test feasibility.

  • Use CAD software to develop design models and refine product ideas.

  • Engage in hands-on prototyping, including 3D printing, to bring concepts to life.

  • Work closely with various departments, including Marketing and Design, to gather insights and feedback for product development.

You're the right fit if:

  • A strong passion for making a difference through innovative product design and mechanical engineering.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design, with a focus on hands-on engineering skills.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, NX, SolidWorks).

  • Hands-on prototyping skills, with experience in 3D printing being a plus.

  • A mindset geared towards thinking, designing, building, testing, and quickly iterating on ideas.

  • The ability to understand technical complexities and simplify them for broader application.

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you perform a part-time internship, you will receive an allowance pro-rata.

  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the landlord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.

  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net

  • Paid holidays per internship term.

  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
