Join our dynamic Life Sciences Business Unit (LSBU) team. We are revolutionizing cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM), a groundbreaking technology that has accelerated the development of cures and vaccines and deepened our understanding of disease pathways. Thermo Fisher continues to innovate the technology at a high pace to rapidly enable more scientists to access these techniques.

We are seeking an experienced EM technologist to join our team, with specific responsibility to coordinate the complete handling of non-standard requests (NSR) for the entire Life Sciences EM product portfolio, from initial inquiry all the way to delivery to the customer.

A day in the Life:

• Intake of non-standard requests through existing processes; interaction with sales teams and directly with the customer to understand the customer need in detail; ensure clarity and quality of the request for subsequent technical assessment by R&D specialists. Precisely determine configuration of a customer system when relevant.

• Represent the LSBU in the weekly Operational Commitment Review Boards to ensure correct assignment to owners for technical assessment. Critically review technical assessment, including cost, timing, technical analysis and strategic impact. Manage NSR priorities in order to meet customer budget/tender timing.

• Based on customer needs and technical assessment, develop proposal for quote text and pricing. Advise business and sales teams about technical, commercial and strategic aspects.

• Drive revenue by close involvement in NSR project execution.

• Initiate and support improvement initiatives e.g. around offering, process, documentation, value creation, communication.

Keys to Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant degree

• 5 years working experience in high tech environment

• Excellent, enthusiastic, clear communication skills, both written and verbal is critical to the success of this position

• Proven track record of successful interaction within cross-functional and cross-cultural teams

• Must be proficient in speaking and writing English in technical and commercial environment

• Analytical approach and strong attention to detail

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a multi-cultural environment and with a global reach

• Commercial drive and a keen interest in business aspects

• Strong sense of ownership and focused on obtaining results

• Technology minded with a thorough understanding of requirements for configuration management

The candidate will be preferably based in Eindhoven, NL or Brno, CZ to enable frequent and efficient in-depth interaction with Product Marketing and R&D specialists.
