The Team
The System Integration & Verification team is a multidisciplinary group within our R&D organization, consisting of approximately 40 engineers. The team plays a central role in the integration and verification of large-scale projects, including the forefront Titan TEM microscopes. We are involved in multiple high-priority programs, working not only on standard product systems but also on Non-Standard Requests to deliver customer-specific solutions.
How You Will Make an Impact
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make major contributions to the integration of new hardware and software systems for sophisticated TEM projects. As the System Owner of at least one R&D TEM, you’ll work on sophisticated technical challenges in a fast-paced and innovative R&D environment. Your work will directly impact the development of products that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
What You Will Do
As System Engineer - Project Member , your responsibilities will include:
Guiding the specification and design phases of new products.
Implementing system tests and providing guidance to other engineers.
Contributing to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA ) .
Identifying and addressing integration issues in collaboration with designers and project leads.
Suggesting improvements for existing prototypes and discussing technical bottlenecks.
Ensuring that R&D TEM systems are maintained in optimal condition for ongoing projects.
As System Engineer – System Owner , you will:
Lead system planning in alignment with user needs and project requirements.
Build, rebuild, and place systems as needed for lab and project demands.
Train system users and offer ongoing support.
Monitor system accessories and acquire knowledge to troubleshoot or improve components.
How You Will Get There
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Hands-on experience designing and testing sophisticated, low-volume high-tech systems.
Confirmed experience as a system owner of sophisticated systems.
Background in both hardware and software development.
Strong communication skills in English (knowledge of Dutch is a plus).
