Fortive Corporation Compliance Intern (non-thesis) in Eindhoven, Netherlands

Are you a university level student with a strong interest or affinity with topics such as anti-bribery and business integrity? Are you looking for an apprentice internship to gain work experience in an international fast-paced environment? Then this might be a great opportunity for you! Our Legal and Compliance team is seeking an intern to assist with third-party due diligence and the update of our third-party business integrity program. Supporting the Compliance Manager for the EMEA region, you will have the opportunity to learn to identify and mitigate risks related to potential violations by third parties of anti-corruption laws and export controls and regulations, conflicts of interest, anti-competitive practices and other unethical behaviour. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop further highly sought after in today’s job market skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving, communication, cross-functional collaboration, assertiveness and resilience.

The position could be full-time or part-time (at least three days per week) for six months but the duration can be flexible. It will be a hybrid role, partly working in our office in Eindhoven and partly working from home.

What you will do:

  • Perform initial due diligence for potential and existing channel partners

  • Assist with the update of our Third-Party Business Integrity Program

  • Collaborate with Trade Compliance, Legal and Sales teams for mitigation of identified concerns

  • Perform compliance checks on non-standard transactions

  • Monitor and track the completion rate of the recurring compliance requirements

  • Assist with reporting and training for internal stakeholders

The team:

We are a diverse team consisting of 5 lawyers, 2 paralegals, 1 compliance professional, and 1 legal assistant, coming from 7 different countries. We are very supportive of each other and embrace our cultural diversity. The Fortive EMEA Legal Team is a trusted partner to the business customers across different business segments and provides proactive and practical support to the different business teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Level of education: enrolled in a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in the areas of Law, Business or Finance, with a strong interest or affinity with topics of anti-bribery and business ethics

  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal; other languages are a bonus

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Fast learner

  • Good research skills

  • Strong ability to take initiative – for instance, reaching out to other teams to find out information and following up on requests

  • Solid organisation skills and work ethic
